If you have the 'wires only' ADSL service then you will need an ADSL splitter (sometimes called a microfilter) for each phone socket around your house. The splitter separates the ADSL (high frequency) signals from the analogue phone (low frequency) signals. The Safecom splitter includes a UK (1.8uf) ring capacitor for devices with a REN of up to 2.6.
